Lotus Europa JPS Special '72

Original drawings for the design of the Europa were by Ron Hickman, inventor of the Black & Decker Workmate who was bidding for the design of the Ford GT40 project. Although this was unsuccessful, Colin Chapman of Lotus used it as the car to replace the then aging Seven. Deliveries started in 1967 with the Series 1 but when Lotus won the F1 world championship with their JPS sponsored Grand Prix cars in 1972 they produced a limited edition Europa JPS Special of 200 cars. Such was the demand that in the end 3130 'Specials' came off the Hethel production line in Norfolk. These are much sought after models today.

Please note this Europa car print is a heavily reworked digitally produced illustration for a customer that was put through a special drawing programme before being placed onto one of my hand drawn backgrounds and is therefore NOT a fully hand drawn illustration.

Each unique Black & White laser print is taken from the original pencil illustration and comes set in a black A4 presentation mount.
