Viva HA SL '65-'66
Vauxhall's first small car since 1936. The new Viva and Opel's Kadett were really twins under the skin with a 1057cc. 44bhp. 4 cylinder engine. Alas they suffered badly from corrosion through the cappings along the boot edges allowing in water, causing premature and terminal rust! The sumptuous SL of 1965 was the luxury version for the wealthier end of Vauxhall's clientele with additional flashy chrome bits, full size wheel trims and a better interior trim. Production reached a staggering 309,538. Few survived.
