In 1919, as France recovered from WWI, gear-maker Andre Citroen started to produce his own cars at the old Mors factory in Paris and soon became one of the largest producers of cars in the country. Over time Citroen become renowned for innovation in car design; the revolutionary Type 7A (Traction Avant) of 1934, the 2CV of 1948 and the breathtaking DS19 of 1955. Today Citroen still produce cars of great character adorned with the famous double chevron emblem representing the double helical gears that Andre Citroen originally started making way back in 1913.
