Reliant was founded when Raleigh Bicycles stopped manufacturing 3 wheeled vehicles in 1934. Their works manager, a Mr. Williams and his colleage Mr.Thompson decided to set up their own business in Mr. Williams back garden in Tamworth. The first production Reliant was a 600cc van that looked like a 3 wheeled motorcycle. Post war years saw various models such as the Regent, Robin, Regal, Rebel, Rialto, Kitten and Bug, plus the stunning 4 wheeled Scimitar GT car. Alas after many years of strugging through with various owners it all came to a sad end in 2002 when production ceased for good.
