Yes, another bicycle making concern from Coventry; Percy & Stanley Riley unveiled their first cars to the public as far back as 1898. Their best known car however was the Riley Nine that underpinned their range during its golden years of the 1920 & early 30’s. Alas like many other manufacturers of the period its bank balance went into the red and it sold out to William Morris in 1938. Post war it did produce the wonderful RM range but its identity got lost in the BMC badge engineering folly of the ’50 & ’60. Finally in 1969 it was put out of its misery and disappeared into history.
