A new streamlined and smaller Rover owned by British Aerospace emerged out of the British Leyland tragedy but it was always starved of cash and this was reflected in the cars it produced; revamped older models and redesigned cars brought in from Honda. BMW took control in ’94 and produced the wonderful Rover 75… a car that opitomised the traditional Rover virtues of old, but it was all too little and too late… the world had moved on.
