Started in the early 1950’s TVR Engineering was originally a kit car building firm based in Blackpool. It was founded by Bernard Williams & TreVoR Wilkinson whose abbreviated first name gave rise to the company name. TVR was bought by Peter Wheeler in 1981 who was himself a TVR owner. Under his watchful management TVR built some of the most stunningly beautiful cars in the world that were blessed with incredible performance. Wheeler sold out to the Russian Nikolai Smolenski in 2004 and in 2006 the factory gates closed for the last time.
